“Making the Grade?” | Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition
It was great to participate with Attorney General Frosh at an event hosted by the Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition to discuss problems with for-profit colleges. I discussed my House Bill 741, which will require more transparency and accountability on the part of for-profit colleges in Maryland.
House Bill 741 will prohibit a private career school from enrolling a student in a program that is intended to lead to employment in a field that requires licensure in the State if successful completion of the educational course offerings in the program at the school will not meet the State educational requirements for licensure, the school does not hold appropriate accreditation, or the school is aware of any other characteristics that would lead to the ineligibility of the student.
